			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Castlegar Search and Rescue was involved with the search for Zach Larsen, missing since Sunday June 6th, 2010.  The search started on Tuesday and was  suspended as of 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.  The RCMP continue to investigate his disappearance.</p>
<p>We received assistance from the South Columbia, Grand Forks, Nelson, Creston and Rossland SAR teams, Emergency Social Services, Red Cross, Trail and Castlegar Fire Departments, and hundreds of volunteers from the public.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After a huge number of hours we have selected a boat. Three  SAR members went down to the manufacturers and talked about possible alterations  and extras that would make it safe and solid for searchers and subject. We think  we have come up with the best!</p>
<p>It is a ThunderJet Maxim Classic. For more information, check out the ThunderJet website: <a href="http://www.thunderjet.com/maximclassic/index.html">http://www.thunderjet.com/maximclassic/index.html</a>.  It  will be painted in the color yellow with the canopy blue. We had it extended two  feet to 25 ft. We have gone with the HO motor and many other features to  make it a solid rescue boat that can handle as many as three  stretchers.</p>
<p>We expect it to arrive in mid-October. Hopefully earlier!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Members of Castlegar SAR spent Thursday and Friday (May 17-18) in Grand Forks searching for Karen Kyle, who had been reported missing Wednesday morning.  Along with members from the Nelson, Creston, Rossland, New Denver, Oliver/Osoyoos, Central Okanagan, and of course Grand Forks Search and Rescue groups, we worked with the RCMP, Civil Air Search and Rescue (CASARA), and the US Border Patrol to comb the area.</p>
<p>She was  able to find her way home and spent the past few days in the woods near  her home.</p>
